Diabetes has become a global epidemic, affecting millions of people worldwide. The possibility of changing the course of diabetes and prediabetes through behavioral changes is both promising and well-documented. This program to overcome diabetes was initially developed by Dr. Unwin and his team from England. It focuses on correcting behaviors and lifestyle choices to help you recover from diabetes without needing additional medication. Diabetes does not develop overnight but over time. Therefore, to overcome and reverse the process, time and resilience are key. For this reason, this service is available with a plan ranging from 6 to 12 months, including four online or in-person sessions of 45 minutes each per month and unlimited phone call support. Here's what you can expect: Week 1: Initial Assessment Establish rapport and understand your current nutrition habits, lifestyle, and diabetes management. Discuss your daily routine, dietary preferences, and any challenges you face in managing diabetes. Review recent blood test results, including HbA1c levels, fasting glucose, and other relevant markers. Take body measurements (weight, waist circumference, etc.) to establish a baseline. Set realistic goals and expectations for the program. Week 2: Personalized Plan Development Create a tailored nutrition and lifestyle plan based on your unique needs. Analyze your dietary intake and identify areas for improvement. Develop your personalized meal plan that limits carbohydrate intake to no more than 120g per day. Include a variety of foods to ensure nutritional adequacy and satisfaction. Week 3: Implementation and Grocery Shopping Support Grocery store visit. Educate the client on selecting healthy, low-carb food options. Guide you through reading nutrition labels and understanding ingredients. Help you find healthy alternatives to your usual high-carb choices. Teach you how to plan and shop for balanced meals that stay within the 120g carb limit. Weeks 4-12: Ongoing Support and Monitoring Weekly check-ins. Monitor progress, address challenges, and adjust the plan as needed.
